Frequently asked questions

When is Neqa in bristol bay?

The next Neqa in Bristol Bay will occur from June 13 to 20, 2026!

where is Neqa in bristol bay?

In 2026, Neqa in Bristol Bay will be at Kulik Lodge, which is nestled between the eastern shore of Nonvianuk Lake and the mouth of the Kulik River in the Katmai National Park and Preserve.

The Kulik Lodge experience differs from our earlier Neqa in Bristol Bay experiences. Guests will see a different part of Bristol Bay and enjoy an inclusive lodge stay in cabins with delicious meals and Bristol Bay’s famous fly fishing!

How do i get there?

Anglers must first fly into Anchorage. From there, Katmai Air will fly you to Kulik Lodge directly aboard a pressurized Pilatus PC-12 aircraft (approx. 1 hour).

What is the all-in seat cost?

The all-in seat cost reflects the true value of a single seat at Neqa in Bristol Bay. This year, that rate is $7,500.

This covers the full Kulik experience:

  • Travel to and lodging at Kulik Lodge

  • Delicious catered meals

  • Guided fishing and fly-outs (as applicable by sponsorship tier)

  • 15% gratuity

  • Derby ticket

  • Swag and fish box

For three of our custom “all-in” sponsorship levels, such as the Lake Trout package at $15,000, the all-in seat cost is included ($7,500 all-in seat cost + the philanthropic support for the event and the work it advances at an additional $7,500).

The only way to guarantee your stay at Kulik Lodge, round-trip airfare from Anchorage to the Lodge, and guided fishing experience is by becoming a King Salmon, Rainbow Trout, or Lake Trout sponsor as these packages already include reserved spots for sponsors to attend our June event (in addition to the philanthropic commitment).

Any remaining open seats for the full Kulik Lodge experience will be sold after May 1st at a rate of $7,500, regardless of sponsorship level.

Are there options for fly-outs?

Yes!

Guided float plane fly outs through Katmai Air are available with in a 100-mile radius from the Kulik Lodge. Kulik staff recommend waiting to book fly outs until you reach the lodge, as the weather may vary.

Do i need a fishing license?

Yes, you do!

It’s imperative that all anglers hold a valid fishing license with a king stamp (should you decide to fish for kings), which is issued by the State of Alaska. We recommend that you purchase your license online and print it before you leave home. Bring multiple printed copies with you.

do i need to bring my own food?

No. The Kulik Lodge has its own chefs and provides delicious meals. You’re welcome to bring any additional food as well.

What type of clothing should i pack?

  • To ensure your comfort, we recommend dressing for temperatures that range from 40-70 degrees.

  • We absolutely recommend GOOD quality raingear and boots that will keep you dry through an entire day. (You may choose to bring waders and boots.)

  • Bring a hat and gloves. Even on sunny days, it can get chilly on the water. Polarized sunglasses will help reduce glare on the water.

  • Please bring sunscreen and insect repellent too!

How many bags can i bring?

You will be traveling in an 8-passenger plane to reach Kulik Lodge. Therefore, we recommend using a soft-sided bag or backpack that is water resistant and limiting your baggage to one or two bags maximum, plus your carry-on.

Please pack valuables, medication, and an overnight change in your carry-on.

will there be alcohol or tobacco?

The lodge is equipped with a full bar.
